Over they years, we have seen many different actors and actresses in Hollywood either losing a lot of weight for a movie role or putting on a lot of weight for a movie role. Then there are those who have lost a lot of weight, to then go and have to put a lot more back on. Just look at Christian Bale from his role in The Machinist, to then going on to play Batman in Batman Begins.
Another actor, who had to lose a lot of weight for a movie role is Magic Mike actor Matthew McConaughey, who had to shed 50 pounds for his role as Ron Woodroof in Dallas Buyers Club. Matthew has now managed to put most of that weight back on now, admitting that he has found the weight gaining experience much more difficult than the weight loss.
McConaughey told Hollyscoop, "I gained 45 [pounds] of them back. The gaining was trickier than the losing. It's more fun, but it's also trickier. The first big meal that you eat, your body remembers that it lived at 182 pounds and it wants to sprint back and you have to pull the reigns and go, 'Woah! We gotta take it easy.' It's a marathon."
Matthew McConaughey has received a lot of positive feedback for his role in Dallas Buyers Club, with fans and critics alike admitting that they were impressed with his performance. As well as receiving praise for the role, Matthew has also received a Golden Globe nomination and is tipped to get an Oscar nomination too.
