There have been so many different attempts to bring a whole host of video games to the big screen but, if history has taught us anything, it is that this is never usually a good idea, with almost all of the movie adaptations of video games being poor. The Angelina Jolie Tomb Raider movies we not massive financial flops but the films themselves were less than impressive, so it is no surprise fans are keen to see it done properly with the Tomb Raider reboot.
Meanwhile, the Resident Evil movies have gone on to make a huge amount of money at the box office but, if you were to ask any of the actual fans of the game what they think about the movie series, it would not receive the most positive of responses. So, it is definitely interesting to see that there are still a huge amount of video games being adapted for the big screen, with the impressive Assassin's Creed being the next one to get released.
We are not too far away from the release of the Assassin's Creed movie and, after seeing all of the different promotional material, it does look like the film could become the first video game movie to actually hit all of the right marks. We have been impressed by the posters, pictures, clips and trailers from Assassin's Creed and we cannot wait to see whether the movie will finally break the video game curse.
With that said, it could just be a case of them doing a great job of selling the film, by bringing us the most exciting parts of the Assassin's Creed movie in the promotional material, in order to draw us in. With Michael Fassbender starring and Marion Cotillard supporting, the cast is certainly top draw, so we guess we are just going to have to wait and see how good the Assassin's Creed movie actually is.
Assassin's Creed is set to hit the big screen on December 21 in the US and on January 1 in the UK.
