French actress Berenice Marlohe became known to the world through her role in the 2012 James Bond blockbuster movie “Skyfall”. Her stunning looks combined with her acting talent helped her win the role but in 2014 she will be faced with a bigger challenge and that is building on the fame that she has obtained from this role. The greatest challenge for female actresses who star in James Bond films is finding future projects that can move their movie careers forward. Will Bernice be able to move her career forward in a manner similar to Halle Berry or will she become the next Teri Hatcher?
BereniceMarlohe is known in France as a successful television actress. She could have easily stayed in that realm but her decision to read for her role in the James Bond movie indicates that she has aspirations of becoming a big screen star. She has just finished two projects that will be released in 2014 in which she is part of two very strong casts full of other stars. However, while this is a safe decision it may not be the best decision for her. To be a movie star and carry a movie an actress must be willing to take a chance.
Following “Die Another Day” Halle Berry then took on the lead role in “Catwoman” and “Gothika”. She was the lead character in both movies. It is likely that there will not be another time in the career of Bernice Marlohe where she will be as well known to the public as she is now because of her role in “Skyfall”. As such it is imperative that she capitalize on this public recognition by working on projects that feature her as the lead character if her goal is to be a movie star.
Marlohe needs to take advantage of the attention she has received from being a major part of the cast in the Bond movie to find a project that will feature her in the same way that Halle Berry and Penelope Cruz have used their roles in big budget films with leading men to acquire projects that feature them in prominent, lead roles. The opportunity to become a star similar to Ms. Cruz is available to Berenice Marlohe but to do so she must act in films that make her the main character on the big screen.
